PORT ORCHARD — Evelyn Miller, formerly of Port Orchard, passed away peacefully in Puyallup Oct. 9, with her daughter Norma Dee at her bedside.
She was born in Osakis, Minnesota, in 1919, the fourth of six children. She moved from Minnesota to Gig Harbor in 1957 and spent most of her career working at the Washington Veterans Home at Retsil. She retired in 1985 and became an avid gardener, bowler and world traveler.
Evelyn is survived by one brother, Lloyd, in Minnesota; her daughter Betty Lou Wettstein of Ocean Shores; Carol Jean Dutton of Puyallup; Robert J. Miller of Forks; and Norma Dee Roa of Parkland. She also had 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
There will be a memorial service at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor.
