Ferdin F. Terry died Nov. 30, 2008 at Harborview Medical Center. The Silverdale resident was 89.
Ferdin was born on March 25, 1919 in Lund, Nev. to George and Anna (Jensen) Terry. He graduated from Metropolis High School in Nevada in 1937 and later from Olympic College in 1973.
He married Florence Granville on Oct. 19, 1946 in Beaver, Utah. She preceded him in death in 1988.
Ferdin served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1940 to 1945 and achieved the rank of master sergeant. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 33 years and also worked part-time for 15 years at Manette TV. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was an amateur “Ham” radio operator, enjoyed photography, genealogy, cooking, sewing and wood working.
Ferdin was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew and sisters, Tressa Hyde and Jetta Lane.
He is survived by his sons, William, Ray and Darrell; daughters, Margaret Elmore and Joan Wallner; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
