Florence L. Allred of Silverdale died Sunday, May 30, at Harrison Hospital. She was 80.
Allred was a supervisor in the purchasing department at Naval Supply Center Puget Sound for 17 years before her retirement in 1983. She also worked at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah.
She was born July 25, 1923, in Salt Lake City to Carl and Ethel (Young) Fornelius. Allred attended Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah, where she graduated in 1941.
In 1945 she married John F. Allred in Salt Lake City. He preceded her in death in 1969.
Allred enjoyed gardening, crafts and studying family history. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Silverdale second ward.
She is survived by her daughters Kathleen (husband Adarin) Gohl of Port Orchard and Jeannette Allred of Silverdale, along with four grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her brothers Carl and LaVoy Fornelius, sister Bea Worsley, and granddaughter Corina Packard.
Services were June 4 at the Silverdale Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Internment is at Haven of Rest Memorial Park in Gig Harbor. Arrangements by Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
