Florence M. Zuvich

Florence M. Zuvich of Poulsbo died Aug. 12, 2003. She was 89.

Zuvich was born to Daniel and Mary (Seifert) McPherson Minnick July 7, 1914 in Oconto, Wis.

She married Marion A. Zuvich Sr. on Aug. 8, 1941.

The couple moved to Oakland, Calif. where she worked at Alameda Naval Air Station during World War II. Zuvich stayed there for more than 57 years before relocating to Poulsbo in 2001.

She loved gardening, sewing and lending a helping hand to her friends.

Zuvich is survived by her sons James Zuvich of Fairfield, Calif., Sam Zuvich of Quilcene and Marion Zuvich of Poulsbo; daughter Sophie Ferreira of Concord, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marion A. Zuvich Sr. and her half-sister Iris Zorich.

No services are planned. Zuvich’s cremated remains will be inurned next to her husband in Oakland, Calif.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island.
