Francis (Fran) Emily Nicholas passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Fran was born in Flushing, New York and moved to Poulsbo, Washington in 1972. Fran owned a farm in Kingston, Washington for about 15 years and then moved to Hansville, Washington. Fran worked for the Suquamish tribe as a enrollment officer in the Fisheries department. Prior to that Fran worked for several catering companies as an event planner and was highly respected in the Seattle area. Fran had a love for rescue dogs, gardening and her many nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. Fran is survived by her husband, Mike Nichols, daughters and son-laws Laura & Norman Van Den Handel; Stacey & Jean Taba-Taba; Lisa & Greg Wessels, Susanne & Victor Wilson; step daughter & son-law Rachel & JJ Jones; step daughter Robin Nichols; and step son & daughter in-law Doug & Kim Nichols. She is also survived by many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial for Fran on 5/18/19 at 1pm and will be held at the Suquamish tribe’s House of Awakened Culture, 7235 NE Park Way, Suquamish, Washington. If desired Fran’s family has requested that gifts be made to either Rescue Every Dog (RED) in Kingston, Washington or Providence General Hospital Hospice Care Center in Everett Washington.
