Frederick H. West, 85
Hansville resident Frederick H. West died June 23, 2004 in Hansville. He was 85.
West was born to Earl H. and Lucy P. (Miller) West in Sauk Rapids, Minn. on Jan. 22, 1919.
He married Arlene A. Braun on July 13, 1944.
West graduated from Robert A. Long High School in Longview in 1937.
He served for 37 years in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. He achieved First Class rank in the Navy and was a Chief Aviation Electronics Technician in the Coast Guard. He was a World War II veteran.
As a civilian, he worked at the U.S. Naval Repair Facility in San Diego, Calif. and at the Undersea Warfare Engineering Station in Keyport before retiring in 1978.
He enjoyed fishing and crabbing on his boat and doing electrical handiwork for his friends.
West is survived by his wife Arlene A. West of Hansville; daughters Connie L. (Ron) Lane of Bremerton and Debbie L. (Dave) Bowen of Renton; brothers Dick and Don Cedergren of Longview; sister Florence Rowling of Tacoma; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mae Smith.
There will be no services.
