Garfield (Fred) Alm of Poulsbo died June 23 in Poulsbo. He was 76.

He was born Oct. 27, 1933, in North Bend, to Garfield A. and Kathleen (Bookter) Alm. He was a graduate of Franklin High School in Seattle.

In 1977 Alm worked for Subase Bangor Fire Department and retired in 1990 as a fire inspector.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl; daughters Susan (Steve) Booth of Everett, and Lisa (Gary) Wilson of Carnation; son Garfield Alm, III of Federal Way; four grandchildren: Gary Jr., Darcie, Danielle and Chase.

A potluck, and celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18 at the Sons of Norway, in Poulsbo.
