Gerald K. Nakata, 84
Gerald K. Nakata of Bainbridge Island died June 3, 2007 at his home. He was 84.
Nakata was born to Jitsuzo and Shima Nakata on Bainbridge Island on March 18, 1923.
He was married to Sue for 54 years.
Nakata graduated from Bainbridge Island High School in 1941.
He worked with his brother, John, at the Paramount Grocery in Seattle in 1947, ran Lynwood Market in 1960, worked for Town and Country Market in 1967 and he worked at Poulsbo Market Place and Poulsbo Central Market.
Nakata enjoyed golfing, cherished his friendships made at school and work and liked bantering with co-workers and customers.
Nakata is survived by his children Kathy and Rick of Bainbridge Island and Jerry and Yuka of Redmond, his sister Yoshie Iwasa of Los Angeles, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. June 16 at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church, on Bainbridge Island.
