Gilbert O. Garcia died Jan. 29 in Seattle. He was born Sept. 6, 1948, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Manuela O. and José Vargas García.

He is survived by two daughters: Marisol García Schielke (Aaron) of Poulsbo and Melissa García, of Centralia; three grandchildren: Annalise and David Schielke of Poulsbo and Maria del Socorro Nuñez of Toppenish; five brothers; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also an active member of St. Olaf’s Catholic Church in Poulsbo.

A memorial mass and service will be at noon Feb. 13 at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church, 18943 Caldart Av NE, in Poulsbo.
