Harold L. Lawson of Kingston died Aug. 31, 2003. He was 86.
Lawson was born to Sylvester and Maggie (Brim) Lawson in Ballard on Feb. 28, 1917.
He married Helen M. Arness on Oct. 6, 1939 in Seattle.
Lawson graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1939. He was then a civilian representative in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1939-1945. During his service, he received the War Department Technical Representative Award for a uniformed “Tech Prep” in the Air Corps.
He worked for Boeing for 40 years, retiring in 1979.
Lawson enjoyed wood working and history. He was a Presbyterian.
Lawson is survived by his wife Helen (Arness) Lawson of Kingston; daughters Kaaren (George) Atchinson and Bettianne (John) Sjoberg; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Alvin Lawson and Ernest Lawson, sister Geraldine Armstrong and son Harold L. Lawson Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 12 at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church on Bainbridge Island.
