Harry A.J. Versteeg passed away on Jan. 28 with his wife of 38 years, Mary, by his side.
Harry immigrated to the United States from The Hague, Netherlands in 1956, and worked for various architectural firms in the Seattle area. He retired from NBBJ in 1995. He often said, “I can’t believe I get paid for a job I love so much.”
Harry is survived by his wife, Mary, of Poulsbo; daughter, Mora Schlief (Doug) of Port Orchard; stepdaughters, Tanya Howlett (Ken) of Poulsbo, and Kristin Johnson of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Christopher Oakley, Emily Schultz, Austin Schlief, Alexa Schlief, Madison Johnson, Tim Johnson, Teagan Howlett and Mimi Johnson; and great-grandson, Wyatt Schultz.
The family wishes to thank the Ohana Nursing Home in Lake Chapala, Mexico, where he received loving care during his last years.
There are many great stories and loving memories of Harry, aka Opa, and he will missed greatly by all.
