Howard D. Fischer, 77

Howard Dressner Fischer of Lemolo died June 28, 2004 in Lemolo. He was 77.

Fischer was born on Sept. 1, 1926.

He married Marjorie Metz on Nov. 23, 1957 in Coronado, Calif.

Fischer served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He also served at Nas Orote, Guam as staff commander of the first tank fleet and USS Wheatear AM390.

Fischer is survived by his sons Brian Andrew (Karen) Fischer of Poulsbo and Evan Patrick (Theresa) Fischer of Tacoma; daughter Ann Colleen Bucklin of Vancouver; brother Col. Sherril Harvey (Maraki) Fischer of Arlington, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie.

At his request, there will be no services. Cremation and other arrangements are under the direction of the People’s Memorial Society of Seattle and Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton.

Jane E. Bickler, 85

Jane E. Bickler of Suquamish died June 29, 2004 in Suquamish. She was 85.

Bickler was born to Godfred and Myrtle Clarberg in Seattle on June 9, 1919.

She married Peter Bickler on Aug. 23, 1942 in Seattle.

Bickler graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle in 1936.

She was a housewife who enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with family. Her husband built the home in which she lived until her death.

Bickler is survived by her daughter JoAnn (Stan) Baker of Rolling Bay and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Bickler, parents Godfred and Myrtle Clarberg, son Paul Bickler and brother Jack Clarberg.

No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel in Poulsbo.
