Howard James Kvinsland, 91
Howard James Kvinsland formerly of Poulsbo died Sept. 1, 2007. He was 91.
Kvinsland was born to Ole and Ellen Kvinsland in Poulsbo on Dec. 29, 1915.
He graduated from North Kitsap High School and Pacific Lutheran College.
Kvinsland worked as an educator in the Central Kitsap School District and started his career as the principal of Chico Grade School in 1939. Later, he was the Central Kitsap junior and senior high school vice principal and Central Kitsap Junior High principal, retiring in 1994 as the assistant superintendent.
He enjoyed golf, fishing, berry picking and traveling. He was a charter member of the Silverdale Lutheran Church, the Silverdale Rotary and a member of Kitsap Golf and Country Club.
Kvinsland is survived by his wife Eugenia; son Jon (Mari) of Gig Harbor; daughter Nancy Roesch (Paul) of Longview; sister Elaine (Ed) Gerstenberger of Poulsbo; grandchildren Mark, Craig, Jeff, Scott, Eric and Kari; and nine great-grandchildren .
Arrangements are being handled by the Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Silverdale Lutheran Church.
