Iola L. Welch, 84

Iola L. Welch died Nov. 16, 2003 in Poulsbo. She was 84.

Welch was born to John and Laura (Clawson) Long in Nakoosa, Wis. on Sept. 8, 1919.

She married Milford D. Welch on May 5, 1975 in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho.

Welch graduated from Nakoosa High School in Nakoosa, Wis. in 1938.

She worked as a bartender and enjoyed traveling and boating.

Welch is survived by her husband Milford D. Welch of Grayland; James J. VanRuth of Poulsbo, and Jeffrey VanRuth and John J. VanRuth, both of Bremerton; daughter Judy J. Case of Bremerton; and numerous grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Laura (Clawson) Long and daughter Jackie J. VanRuth.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Cherry Grove Crematory.
