James E. LeClare of Poulsbo died Oct. 31, 2003 in Lynnwood. He was 88.
LeClare was born to Charles F. and Claude E. (Edgar) LeClare in Alburquerque, N.M. on July 8, 1915.
He married Mary L. Terry on Jan. 31, 1942 in Yuma, Ariz.
LeClare graduated from Sweetwater High School in California in 1933.
He ran a chicken farm in Poulsbo, then later worked for Settle Construction for several years and then managed the liquor store in Poulsbo for 14 years. He retired in 1983.
LeClare enjoyed golfing and playing poker. He was the president of the Lions Club from 1971-1972.
LeClare is survived by his daughters Jeanne LeClare of Lynnwood and Diane Halvorson of Gaithersburg, Md.; brother Charles F. LeClare of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary L. (Terry) LeClare and his brother John C. “Jack” LeClare.
Arrangements are under The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo.
