James L. Graves

James L. Graves, 76, known as ‘Jim the Barber’ to all his loyal customers, passed away on June 17, 2018 in Hansville, WA. Jim was born on September 15, 1941 in Seattle, WA to Martin and Lila (Morgan) Graves.

A graduate of Chief Sealth High School in Seattle, Jim went on to serve with honor in the US Navy, and later attended Edmonds Community College.

Jim was owner and operator of Jim’s Hairstyling in Edmonds for over 50 years. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed golf, fishing and crabbing, playing softball, camping, and travel. Jim also never met a horse race or poker table that he didn’t want to master.

He is preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Kathie Jo Graves; sister, Opal Nelson; and great-granddaughter, Addison Cooper.

Jim’s memory will live on through his children; daughter Kathy and husband Andy Merick, sons, Mike and wife Tami Graves, Scott and wife Nancy Graves, daughter Tricia and husband Sheldon Eyerly, and his brother Dennis and wife Diane Graves; Jim also had 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
