James L. Rogers, 84
Suquamish resident James L. “Jim” Rogers died March 15, 2005 in Poulsbo. He was 84.
Rogers was born in Portland, Ore. on Aug. 19, 1920.
He married Carol M. Gough.
Rogers graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle in 1938.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II veteran.
Rogers worked for Northern Life Insurance for 30 years and was owner of Poulsbo Realty for 12 years.
He loved cars, watching baseball on television and wintering in Ajo, Ariz. In his younger years, he fly fished and camped with his family. He enjoyed people in general and loved dogs.
Rogers is survived by his sons Scott (Jennifer Gode) Rogers of Mazama; son-in-law Bob Valentine (Susie) of Bainbridge Island; daughter Susan (Richard Brown) Valentine of Bainbridge Island; sister Charlotte Rogers of Calif.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol M. Rogers.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Montclair Park at 11 a.m. April 23 at 1250 NE Lincoln Road in Poulsbo. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Crematory. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove. Memorial donations can be sent to the Humane Society, 9167 Dickey Rd. NE, Silverdale, WA 98383.
