James W. Waddell, 89

James W. Waddell of Hansville died Jan. 28, 2007 in Bremerton. He was 89.

Waddell was born in Jefferson City, Mo. on Oct. 16, 1917.

After completing high school in Arizona in the 1930s, he hitchhiked to Fairbanks, Alaska where he met and married his wife Ardath. He worked for Pan American Airlines before purchasing the Point No Point Resort in Hansville in 1957.

Waddell is survived by son Ron (Peg) Waddell of Lake Stevens; daughters Penelope McCashland of New Mexico; Nola (Bob) Strecker of Kent; and Sandy (Ed) Habecker of Poulsbo.

Waddell was preceded in death by his wife Ardath; sons Jim and Don; and daughter Barbara.

At his request no services will be held. A private family remembrance will take place at a later date.
