Jeannie Alexis Wood, 66, of Bainbridge Island, passed away on Sep. 14, 2021. She was born in Whitter, CA to Merle and Theodora Swift. A graduate of La Serna High School and of a L.A. culinary college as a pastry chef.

In June 1976, Jeannie married Richard “Rick” Wood. In 1990 they moved to Bainbridge Island, where Jeannie helped to develop the Bainbridge Island Farmers Market. Her pastries were a market staple.

Jeannie was a devoted mother and loved animals with a passion.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years. She is survived by her sons, Dashiell and Julian Wood; her father and step-mother (Mary-Louise) of Redlands, CA; brother, Steven Swift (Wendy) of Redlands, CA; lifelong friend, Cynthia Baron of Bainbridge Island; bestie, Susan Vanderway of Bainbridge Island; and countless close friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Seabold Hall on Oct. 10 beginning at 1:00 p.m.; 14450 Komedal Rd NE, Bainbridge Island
