Joan A. Hooper, 79

Poulsbo resident Joan Augusta Hooper died Oct. 3, 2004 in Poulsbo. She was 79.

She was born Sept. 30, 1925 to August and Gina Anderson.

She married Doug Hooper.

Hooper was a member of the Guildjord family of Poulsbo. Her father was a long time resident and fisherman in Poulsbo and also was in the building trade in the off seasons.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed walking to town every day and talking with old timers and store owners. She made new friends easily and always had a smile on her face and a recent joke to share.

Hooper is survived by her husband Doug Hooper of Poulsbo; son Ray (Joanne) Gauthier of Duvall; and sisters Thelma Nicholson of Poulsbo and Jorgene Daily of Port Orchard.

She was preceded in death by her parents August and Gina Anderson.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. A reception will immediately follow in the fellowship hall.
