Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, Jodene Carol Gareis, passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2025, at the age of 51. Jodi was born in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Ernest and Carol Hollingsworth. She was one of twelve siblings and had three stepbrothers. She spent the early years of her life on a farm north of Nortonville, ND, before her family relocated to Washington in 1985. Jodi is survived by her loving husband, Rich Gareis; her two daughters, Alexis Hollingsworth and Angela Fredricks; and her cherished grandson, Koda Walker. She is also survived by her two stepsons, Jason Gareis and Justin Gareis, along with her step-grandchildren, Miranda and Austin Gareis. She leaves behind her siblings: Randy (Beth) Hollingsworth, Scott (Teresa) Hollingsworth, Roxanne (Tim) Martwick, Susan (Chris) Linkous, Tom Hollingsworth, Joe (Doni) Hollingsworth, Pat Hollingsworth, Chris (Candace) Hollingsworth, Twyla (Eric) Beckham, Kalen (Rachel) Hollingsworth, and Jonathan (Donna) Perry, as well as her stepbrother, Todd Schlecht. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Jodi was preceded in death by her parents, Carol and Ernest Hollingsworth; her grandparents, Ernest and Katie Hollingsworth and Alvina and Lester Walburn; her stepbrothers, Jon Schlecht and Robert Schlecht; and her sister-in-law, Tina Hollingsworth. Jodi’s warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.
