Joyce H. Loew, 77

Portland, Ore. resident Joyce Hunting Loew died April 17, 2005 in Portland. She was 77.

Loew was born April 18, 1927 in Huntingville, Quebec.

Loew was married to Harold F. Loew for 25 years.

She moved from Huntingville to Asheville, N.C. when she was 13 and graduated as a nurse from Biltmore Nursing School in 1947. In 1975, she moved to Portland, Ore. and then to Alaska in 1980 where she worked as a public health nurse in Tanana and Sitka for 32 years. Her nursing career spanned more than 50 years.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed walking and biking.

Loew is survived by children Margaret Loew Hudson of Poulsbo, Randall Loew of Eugene, Ore., daughter-in-law Shannon Duda and son-in-law David Hudson.
