Juanita (Anita) Pahan, 68, of Poulsbo, passed away on February 26th at her home.
Anita was born August 19th,1953 in Newport RI to John and Grace Moore. Due to being part of a large military family, Anita traveled all over the USA with her parents and siblings. It wasn’t until 1966 that she was able to call Poulsbo WA her final home. A home she loved for 56 years. Anita graduated from North Kitsap High School in
1971 and shortly after graduation, married her husband Allen and soon had her daughter, Christine. In 1975 Anita began her career for the Safeway Corporation. This is where she built her career, made wonderful, forever friendships, and met her future husband, Denny.
After having her second child Timothy, 14 years after her first, she found herself doing mom stuff all over again. Enjoying baseball games, camping, spending time with her church friends and family and just being a mom. Anita’s faith was extremely important to her, and she truly enjoyed spending time and volunteering at her church.
She loved Jesus and wasn’t afraid to share her faith with any who would ask. She vacationed with her family almost every year, camped with friends, hiked just about
every trail in the cascades, and enjoyed waiting and watching for her swallows to return every year. She loved working in her beautiful flower and strawberry gardens
and spending mornings having coffee with her siblings, who also just happened to be her neighbors. After taking care of her aging parents, Anita decided it was time to
finally embrace her much needed retirement. However, that didn’t last long as she soon decided to return to work again. She was always a people person and said she
needed to keep busy. She began working for the Poulsbo Inn as a part time kitchen server and absolutely loved it, she loved her coworkers and the people she’d meet
from around the world.
After her second retirement, she decided there was no time for free time and went full steam ahead into volunteering for the Fraternal Order of Eagles- North Kitsap 3586, which just happened to be right down the street from her home. She started in the kitchen as a volunteer, but soon found herself as the president of the club.
Anita not only loved being a mom to her two children, but she absolutely loved being a “Munger” to her grandkids. She never missed out on an opportunity that included them and would brag about them any chance she could. The kids could testify that they almost always saw Munger at all day wrestling matches, cheer events, soccer
games, band competitions, and chucky cheese birthday parties, living room campouts and was known for making the best blanket forts of anyone around.
Anita was also known for her crazy sense of humor and being a trickster to anyone she met. Oh, the stories we could tell.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Michael and John and sister Patty. Anita is survived by her daughter Christine Lemons (Robert) of Duvall, WA;
Timothy Bulmer (Keri) of Seattle WA; 3 grandchildren Brian, Connor and Erin Lemons and Brothers; Jeff Moore (Terri), Jerry Moore, Chuck Moore (Sheila), Mark Moore, Sisters; Cynthia Wotipka, and Kim Moore and nearly two dozen nieces and nephews. She was loved by every one of them and will be missed by all who knew her.
