Katherine Mattson, 78

Katherine Mattson of Indianola died Jan. 15, 2004 in Seattle. She was 78.

Mattson was born to Angus and Caroline (Ericson) Benneck in Seattle on April 29, 1925.

She married Iver Mattson in 1958.

Mattson enjoyed gardening, reading, watching movies and being out on the salt water. She is remembered for her sense of humor, kindness and gift for telling stories.

Mattson is survived by her sons Thomas (Lauren) Mattson, James Mattson and Matthew (Tammy) Mattson; daughter Laurie; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Iver Mattson.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Hansville Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Hansville Community Center.
