Laurie L. Stickle, 46

Poulsbo resident Laurie Lynn Stickle died July 29, 2005 in Seattle. She was 46.

She was born to Glenn and Beth (Fraser) Haggen in Seattle on Sept. 12, 1958.

Stickle married William Stickle on June 23, 1979 in Poulsbo.

She graduated from high school in Portland, Ore. and attended Whitman University for three years.

Stickle was the human resource specialist at Human Resource Service Center in Silverdale for the past 10 years.

She enjoyed knitting and teaching Sunday school, vacation Bible school and speech classes. She coached soccer and T-ball, sang in the Bainbridge Island Chorale, was a GED tutor, a member of the Tri Delta Sorority, a past PTA president and a member of The Sarah Circle at First Lutheran Church. She was also an ASSIST teacher at Suquamish Elementary School, Gordon Elementary School and Kingston Junior High School.

Stickle is survived by her husband William Stickle of Poulsbo; sons Nicholas and Alexander Stickle, both of Poulsbo; daughter Angela Stickle of Poulsbo; brother David Haggen of Bremerton; sister Kathy Poissot of Guam, Glenna Barlow of Houston, Texas and Gayle Welnitz of Austin, Texas; and mother Beth Fraser of Dickinson, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father Glenn Haggen.

A funeral will take place at 10 a.m. Aug. 11 at First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo, a reception will follow.
