Lorelie A.E. Schmidt of Silverdale died Nov. 22, 2006 in Seattle after a long illness. She was 66 years old.
Mrs. Schmidt was born March 26, 1940, in Appleton, Wis., to Willis and Dorothy (Fiedler) Miller. She graduated from Boulder (Colo.) High School in 1958 and went on to attend the University of Colorado in Boulder.
She married her husband of 45 years, Charles W. Schmidt, on Christmas Day 1960 in Boulder.
Mrs. Schmidt retired from the federal government after 25 years as an administrative assistant. She joined the Silver Circle of Beta Sigma Phi in 1960 and was involved with the Order of the Rose as well as serving as the secretary of the West Sound Entertainment Association. She enjoyed sewing, camping, traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of the family home; sons Robin and Chris (Christine) Schmidt, both of San Antonio, Texas; daughters Lisa (Steve) Ringsby of Brunswick, Ohio, and Leslie Gentry of Auburn, Wash.; brothers Doug (Mary) Miller of El Cajon, Calif., and Danny Miller of San Diego; sisters Nancy James of Boulder, Marsha (Rick) Lakes of Bend, Ore., and Pam DeMonte of San Diego; 13 grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and Don and Johneé Schmidt of Poulsbo and Jude Biegert of Langley, Wash.
A celebration of Mrs. Schmidt’s life is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Private inurnment follows at Forest Lawn Cemetery. An online memorial is available at www.lewischapel.com.
