M. Elaine Tinnin

M. Elaine Tinnin, 80, of Poulsbo died July 5 after a brief illness in Bremerton. She was born April 27, 1929, in Fresno, Calif. She married Gordon E. Tinnin on December 25, 1949, in Avenal, Calif.

She worked at Keyport Sub Base for 20 years and also owned and operated her own ceramics shop which opened in 1973. She and her husband also operated Tinnin Enterprises Automotive Machine Shop in Poulsbo. She was a member of Eastern Star, Rebekah’s and Odd Fellows, Eagles Auxiliary Charter member of 3586.

Tinnin enjoyed teaching ceramics, and was a National Certified Duncan Teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Gordon.

Surviving are her children: Kelly Tinnin (Tammy) and Cindy Tinnin of Poulsbo and Gordon E. Tinnin II of Arkansas; grandchildren: Jacob (Dawn), Christopher (Maria), Nathan (Carol), Shawna (Robert), Amy (Scott), Anita (Steven) and Lisa; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Emmelie, Devin, and Andrea.

A celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. July 25 at her home in Poulsbo. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children at www.shrinershq.org.
