Marcus Collier, beloved son to Edward (Skip) & Raylene Collier, passed away at home on December 8th, 2021, at age 51, from a lifelong heart condition. Marcus was born in San Diego, California on Oct 29, 1970. Skip was in the U.S. Navy and the family landed in Kitsap County when Marcus was 8 years old. He attended North Kitsap schools and graduated from NK High in 1988.
Marcus married Lisa Kilburn in 1993 and they called Kitsap home until 1998 when they moved to Nome, Alaska for a job opportunity. Two and a half years were spent in Nome, snowmachining, crabbing, enjoying the midnight sun, and the Aurora Borealis. It was truly like a vacation for them. Their next stops in Alaska were Dillingham, Anchorage, and lastly Wasilla where their only child Annika was born.
Not long after Annika was born, Marcus and Lisa were on the move again with a goal to land closer to family. In 2004, they purchased a grocery store and deli in rural Eastern Oregon. The Colliers ran it together for the next five years. Once Annika completed kindergarten, they returned to Kitsap so that Annika was truly close to family.
In 2017, Marcus and Lisa started Collier Realty Group, part of the RE/MAX Exclusive family, and were business partners for the second time in their marriage. Lisa plans on continuing the business they built together. Annika is currently earning her Bachelor’s Degree but will be assisting Lisa with the family business as time allows.
Marcus loved books, reading, and constantly learning. He enjoyed working on improvements to their home & property, helping Lisa with her gardening, building whatever she wanted, and spending quality time with Annika. Marcus had an immense love of music, playing “name that song”, being on the dance floor, and singing. When time allowed, an escape into the forest in the RV was always a recharge for him.
Marcus is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lisa; daughter, Annika; mother & father, Raylene and Skip Collier; sister & brother-in-law, Shannon and Bob Kerr; nephew & wife, Thomas and Rachael Kerr; father & mother-in-law, Dan and Claudia Kilburn; and brother-in-law & husband, Jeff Kilburn and Rick Vandenhole.
A celebration of life is planned for early spring. An online memorial can be seen at www.lewischapel.com
