Margaret Ida Caroline Nielsen died Oct. 7 in Poulsbo. She was 91. Nielsen was born July 21, 1918, to Emma and Adolph Anderson in Seattle. She grew up there and was a part of the Salvation Army for many years where she played the tuba in the band.
She married William Nielsen on April 25, 1943. She was involved in the various family businesses until she and Bill retired in 1974 and moved to their home in Eglon.
Nielsen enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and time spent with family and friends. She was a member of the Olympians at Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William in 2005, and grandson Bjorn Nielsen in 2007.
She is survived by her sons: Norman and Warren (Kyle) Nielsen of Eglon; and grandchildren Kevin Nielsen (Cathy) of Bellingham, Emma Bush (Galen) of Everett and Erik Nielsen of Eglon.
A memorial service was held Oct. 13 at Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo.
