Margaret Smaaladen, 88

Margaret Smaaladen of Poulsbo died May 8, 2007. She was 88.

Smaaladen was born to Ingvald and Ingeborg Johnson in Poulsbo on May 5, 1919.

She married Obert Smaaladen on Oct. 21, 1941.

She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1937.

She worked at the oyster plant in Poulsbo before taking a job at the Poulsbo Drug Store. She retired in 1985 to spend time with her grandchildren.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo, gardening and traveling. She was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo.

Smaaladen is survived by sons Steve (Cora) Smaaladen and Lonnie (Mary Lynn) Smaaladen; daughter Margene (Jay Roof) Smaaladen; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Smaaladen was preceded in death by her husband Obert Smaaladen, infant son Marvin Smaaladen, sisters Inga Rustad, Jenny Vennes and Gladys Peterson and brothers Fred Johnson, Arvid Johnson and Ivar Johnson.

Services will be at 4 p.m. May 20 at First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo.
