Maria A. Hellthaler, 89

Poulsbo resident Maria A. Hellthaler died May 27, 2004 in Bremerton. She was 89.

Hellthaler was born to Hubertus and Katharina (Haag) Strang in Bad Muenstereifel, Germany on Dec. 15, 1914.

She married Gustav Hellthaler on May 7, 1940 in Bad Muenstereifel, Germany. They were married for 63 and a half years.

Hellthaler was a housewife and mother.

She loved crosswords, to sing and dance, to knit and her cat and dog. She also traveled all over the United States with her husband in their RV and made it to every state except Hawaii.

Hellthaler is survived by her son Gustav Hellthaler of Seattle; daughters Heide (Don) Gorman of Boca Raton, Fla. and Petra Hellthaler of Bremerton; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gustav Hellthaler and her son Arno Hellthaler.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel in Poulsbo.
