Marlene “Mimi” Salo, 75
Poulsbo resident Marlene “Mimi” (Amundsen) Salo died Sept. 21, 2006 in Bremerton. She was 75.
Salo was born to Olaf and Gretchen Keck Hanson in Seattle on Aug. 10, 1931.
She married William Renny Salo on May 4, 1952 in Bremerton.
Salo graduated from North Kitsap High School, Olympic College and Seattle University.
She worked as a registered nurse at Messenger House and Harborview Medical Center. She was also a nursing instructor at Highline Community College.
She enjoyed watching her grandchildren, boating adventures with her husband, PEO, gardening and taking care of family and friends.
Salo is survived by her husband William Salo of Poulsbo; sons Mark (Christine) Salo of Indianola, Kent (Carol Murr) Salo of Poulsbo and Scott Salo of Poulsbo; sister Ardie (Herb) Allen; and two grandchildren.
Salo was preceded in death by her brother Martin Amundsen and sister Arlene Howe.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 30 at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church, 11042 Sunrise Dr. NE on Bainbridge Island.
