Marnie Lilian Lougheed died Nov. 17, 2008. The Bremerton resident was 67.
She was born May 21, 1941 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada to Arthur and Lillian (Haddock) McLarry.
She graduated from Montesano High School in 1959 and married Mike Lougheed in Montesano on June 18, 1960. She graduated from Central Washington University in 1985 and from Seattle Pacific University in 1989 with her master’s in education.
Marnie worked for 15 years as a teacher at Silverdale Elementary School, retiring in 2001. She also worked at J.C. Penney for 20 years and at Central Kitsap Junior High School’s library for eight years.
Marnie enjoyed her grandkids, books, stamping, crafts, hunting golf balls, travel with Mike and keeping in touch with extended family and friends. She liked spending time in Cathedral City, baking and making raspberry jam. She was a member of the Harrison Hospital Foundation, Children’s Hospital in Seattle and the Quilt Guild.
Survivors include her husband Mike, son William (Kathy) Lougheed and daughters Michelle and Wendy Lougheed, all of Port Orchard; mother Lillian McLarry of Port Orchard; grandchildren Zachary and Kelley Vanchiere and James and Erik Lougheed; sister Gail Hashagen of Sammamish; nephews Ryan Hashagen of Bellingham and Troy (Marta) Hashagen of Tacoma. She was preceded in death by her father and son-in-law Russell Vanchiere.
A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24 at Crossroads Neighborhood Church in Bremerton. Burial is at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard. Memorial donations can be made to Children’s Hospital. An online memorial is available at www.rill.com.
