Mary “Janet” Rettig of Suquamish died April 30 in Bremerton. She was 69.
Rettig was born to Avery H. “Rusty” and Maxine (Lockbaum) Minert in Port Gamble on Oct. 13, 1933.
She married I. Joe Rettig on Nov. 19, 1960 in the “Brown Church” in Suquamish.
Rettig graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1951 and then attended Olympic College for two years.
Rettig was a homemaker who was member of Pricilla Chapter, Sons of Norway and Eagles. She enjoyed reading, sewing and time with her grandchildren.
Rettig is survived by her husband I. Joe Rettig of Suquamish; daughters Michelle (Tyler) Randall and Katherine “Kathy” (Mark) Craig; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Avery H. “Rusty” and Maxine K. (Lockbaum) Minert.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. May 9 at The Stone Chapel in Poulsbo.
