Michael David Hoben died July 12, 2007, at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. He was 45.
Mr. Hoben was born on July 7, 1962, in Ironton, Ohio to David Randall and Linda Mae Butler. He lived in the Central Kitsap area from early childhood, until his passing. He was a resident of Poulsbo.
He was a member of the Kitsap County Destruction Derby for a number of years. Mr. Hoben was a long line fisherman in the Bearing Sea, a talented heavy equipment operator and an accomplished mechanic. He fought a short but courageous battle with lung cancer and passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He was called to heaven so early in his life, but will live on in the hearts of many. He never hesitated to help a friend in need and touched many lives in a positive way. He had a love of the sea, fishing, camping and family.
Mr. Hoben is survived by his mother Linda Oliver; siblings Wendy Lynn Hoben and James Corwin “JC” Hoben; children Ashley and Chelsea Hoben; companion of 17 years, Susan Gibbs; and stepson Chad Gibbs. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Harold and Elizabeth Butler and Howard and Nadine Adkison.
