November 11, 1921 – November 22, 2015
Mildred Halverson, 94, formerly of Poulsbo, passed away on Nov. 22, 2015 in Longview. Mildred was born in Seattle to Dr. Anders and Agnes Ejde on Nov. 11, 1921. As a child, she and her family moved to property on Finn Hill in Poulsbo, where she resided for over 80 years until moving to Longview in 2009 to be closer to family.
She graduated from North Kitsap High School and later attended secretarial school. She married Lee Wright in 1944, had two sons, Steve and Craig, and later divorced. In 1959, she married Ken Halverson of Poulsbo. Ken predeceased her in 1988.
Mildred was an administrative secretary at Bangor, PSNS, and Keyport for 30 years, retiring in 1976. She and Ken enjoyed travel, both in their RV and to Europe. She continued to visit and travel with family and friends after Ken’s death. She enjoyed her yard and flowers, a cozy fire, the beach, and the company of her beloved dogs over the years.
She was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. She leaves her sons, Steve Wright (Priscilla) of Kalama, and Craig Wright of Seattle; four grandsons, and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Lars Ejde of Poulsbo, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
