Norris Lee, 95
Norris Lee of Poulsbo died Oct. 20, 2003 in Poulsbo. He was 95.
He was born to Hanse and Anethe Lie in Hellesvik in Helgeland, Norway on March 16, 1908.
Lee married Pauline Elfride Hansen on May 27, 1939 at her home in Norway.
He graduated from the 8th grade at his island’s community school.
Lee worked as a commercial fisherman. He owned several boats, the last of which was “The Evening Star” of Poulsbo. He built it in 1945. He was 80 years old when he served his final time as captain with his son Arne.
He enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii, visiting Norway and maintaining his boat.
Lee is survived by his sons Arne (Kathleen) Lee of Poulsbo and Palmer Lee of Sacramento, Calif., five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Lee; sisters Hansine Alberthe, Karanda Schroder, Aagot Lovald; brothers Hilmar Lee, Olaf Lee, Nils Lee, Sigurd Lee, Hans Lund, Martin and Einer.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 25 at Montclair Park on Lincoln Road in Poulsbo.
