Patricia Ann Stiefel died March 22, 2007, in Bremerton. The Anchorage, Alaska resident was 78.
Mrs. Stiefel was born on Aug. 14, 1928, in St. Cloud, Minn. to John P. and Charlotte (Franek) O’Neil. She married Lester Stiefel in Billings, Mont. He preceded her in death in 1978.
Mrs. Stiefel was a homemaker and a mother. She also was a daycare operator in Barrow, Alaska and worked at Arctic Slope Regional Corporation in Barrow. She was a member of senior companion care in Ketchican, Alaska. Mrs. Stiefel was an avid gardner, voracious reader and loved to travel with her large, extended family.
She recently lived with her daughter Tricia in Bremerton while receiving medical treatment.
Mrs. Stiefel was preceded in death by brothers John, Paul and Charles O’Neil and sister Mary Greene.
Survivors include sons Paul (Georgia) Stiefel of Anchorage and Michael (Tammy) Stiefel of Kent; daughters Tricia (Larry) MacIntyre of Bremerton, Leslie (Conrad) Bagne of Anchorage, Christina Stiefel of Anchorage, Kathy (Alan) Jerome of Edgewood, Wash., Suzie (Joe) Kujawa of Elmhurst, Ill. and Elizabeth Sweesy of Anchorage; brother Philip (Donna) O’Neil of Bozeman; sisters Geraldine Ahl of Bozeman, Jean Bowlds of East Helena, Mont., Rita Heidemann of Missoula, Mont. and Libby (Bob) Barnhart Laurel, Mont.; 24 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic church with a rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment is scheduled for Friday at Crest Hill Cemetery in Kent.
