Patrick W. Ebert sadly passed away on January 30, 2023, at his home on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He was born in Maywood, California on October 20, 1955, and while taken too soon, he lived a full life.

His parents, George and Carol Ebert, were entrepreneurs and their last business venture was the first Mexican restaurant in Washington, the La Mavada. Patrick grew up in the family businesses working side-by-side with his parents and brother, Mike Ebert. Pat attended Bellarmine Prep and the University of Puget Sound. At UPS he became President of the fraternity Sigma Chi and was proud of the accomplishments and his friendships with his “brothers’ from the House. He obtained a degree in accounting and was both a tax accountant and certified financial planner. He enjoyed helping people achieve their financial goals.

During his school years he was the school mascot at Bellarmine Prep in the cheer squad and competed on the downhill ski racing team. He developed quite a following with his voice impressions of Howard Cosell at the school pep rallies and throughout his life. He loved calling friends and imitating voices and leaving funny messages on their voicemail. He could crack himself up and loved old episodes of Johnny Carson and Jonathan Winters’ skits.

Later, his passion turned to golf, and he developed many close life-long friendships through his membership over the years at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club and at Wing Point Golf & Country Club. He loved being on the course and playing in tournaments and horse-races. As his health failed, he unfortunately had to give up the game, but not his friends and fellow members.

He loved spending time watching football and baseball games and would usually have some small wager going with a friend to keep it interesting.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carol and George Ebert. He is survived by his brother, Michael (Marsha) Ebert, Barbara Ebert, former wife and friend of 30 years, daughters Erin (Sandy) MacDonald, Meghan (Jacob) Homchick, stepdaughter, Kelly (Jon) Snow, and five grandchildren.

A memorial will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 2 – 5 pm at Pat’s self-described “second home” – the Tacoma Country & Golf Club.
