Paula F. Bartrug, 61, died Sept. 8, 2006, in Silverdale.
Mrs. Bartrug was the facilities manager for Morale, Welfare and Recreation at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor until she retired in 2005. While employed. she served on a number of command boards and committees as MWR’s representative.
Mrs. Bartrug was born March 3, 1945, in Los Angeles to Franklin and Jewel (Cheever) Ward. She graduated in 1963 from Montclair (Calif.) High School. She loved her cat Baby, traveling and visiting the beach, especially Ocean Shores. She was a faithful and enthusiastic Seahawks and Mariners fan who loved collecting heart-shaped items, teddy bears and watching game shows.
Mrs. Bartrug is survived by her daughter Shawn (Tim) Loy of Vancouver, Wash.; brothers Randy (Cindy) Ward of Shingletown, Calif., and Make Bartrug of Silverdale; grandchildren Tyler Knotts, Kurtis Phillips and Samuel Loy, all of Vancouver; nephews Jeff and Jason Ward of California and Shane Blake of Bremerton; nieces Shannon Foutch and Shelby Bartrug of Bremerton; mother-in-law Donna Bartrug; and friends Mark and Debby Campbell, Charles and Darlene Stansell and Bob and Linda Hourd.
She was preceded in death by Duane Bartrug, her loving partner of 14 years, in April 2005.
A memorial service has already taken place. Cremation by Cherry Grove Crematory. Arrangements by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
