Penny Prouty, 82

Penny Prouty of Poulsbo died peacefully at her home with her children by her side on May 2. She was 82.

Prouty was born on April 26, 1926 in Sumner, Ill., to Merit and Fern Lathrop. She married Bob Prouty in Portland, Ore., on June 17, 1946. Prouty enjoyed sewing, growing roses and spending time with her dog, Teddi.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob and her brother Mervin Lathrop. She is survived by her son Michael Prouty; daughters Genie Deakin, Patty Horn and Debbie Bacher; and grandchildren Jonathon, Brian, Kevin, Kaela and Karyn.

A private family service is scheduled for a date to be announced.

Prouty will be inurned with her husband at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
