Rhonnie Kiel, 59
Rhonnie Kiel of Kingston died May 5. He was 59 years old. He was born to Edwena and Tollie Kiel in Jackson, Ala., on Feb. 6, 1949. He married Patricia Jean James of Virginia Beach, Virg. on Nov. 18, 1977, after four years of courtship.
After graduation from high school, Kiel joined the US Navy where he retired after 27 years of distinguished and honorable service as an electronics technician master chief. After military retirement, he enjoyed working at Rolling Hills Golf Course as a groundskeeper. Kiel was a member of various military and charitable organizations and was known to volunteer and lend a helping hand whenever needed.
He had a variety of interests which included fishing, hunting, camping, lawn maintenance and golfing. He liked having a good time and socializing with his family and friends.
Kiel is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Patricia “PJ” of Kingston; sons Michael and Mark; three grandchildren; niece, Eulusandra Dine Coates and her daughter, Na’ Arah Hill; mother-in-law Alice Audrey James; brother-in-laws Michael Cory, Nathan Mark and Larry Darnell; sister-in-laws, Rene Michelle and Judy Annette and a host of other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., June 21 at Bayside Community Church, located at 25992 Barber Cut-Off Road, Kingston.
In lieu of flowers donations in loving memory of Thonie C. Kiel can be given to Bayside Community Church.
