Robert Alven Wyvel, 71
Robert Alven Wyvel of Poulsbo died Feb. 11 at The Veteran’s Hospital in Seattle. He was 71.
Wyvel was born on September 10, 1936 in Eugene, Ore., to William Wyvel Sr. and Virginia Baker. He grew up on Bainbridge Island and graduated from Bainbridge High School.
After high school, Wyvel served in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a wholesale representative for Armstrong floor products for many years. He served as a volunteer fire fighter for the Bainbridge Island Fire Department for 12 years.
Wyvel enjoyed landscaping, gardening and his fish ponds. He is survived by his wife, Judy Wyvel of Poulsbo, his children; Scheri Maris of Poulsbo and Sandra Erwin of Woodbine, Iowa. He also leaves behind two brothers and his grandchildren; Haley Maris of Oregon and Randall, Darrel and Travis Erwin of Iowa. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Graveside Service at 11:00 a.m. Feb. 18 at Seabold Cemetery on Bainbridge Island. A reception will follow at a family home: 13770 Crestview Circle, Silverdale, WA 98383. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Bainbridge Island Volunteer Fire Fighters Association or the Humane Society.
