Robert B. Willis, 84
Robert Bruce Willis of Indianola died Dec. 27, 2003 in Poulsbo. He was 84.
Willis was born to Richard K. and Adele M. (Mathieson) Willis in Portland, Ore. on June 25, 1919.
He married Joan L. Willis on April 7, 1951 in Tacoma.
Willis enlisted in the U.S. Navy for both World War II and the Korean War as a naval pilot and flight instructor. Later, he worked as an aerospace engineer at Boeing until his retirement in 1981.
Willis enjoyed the water, refurbishing boats and the San Juan Islands. He was an artist, known for his carvings and paintings from memory of a pilot’s view, including one of Mt. Hood at sunrise.
Willis is survived by his wife Joan L. Willis of Poulsbo and his nephew Paul Willis of Bellingham.
Interment will take place at 2 p.m. Jan. 5 at Tahoma National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 6 at Martha & Mary in Poulsbo.
