Robert Carl Goninan died at his parents’ family home in Lebanon, Ore., Sept. 15. He was 72.
Goninan was born in Brainard, Minn., to Robert and Helen Goninan Oct. 12, 1936.
He joined the military in 1954 and served for eight years.
In 1957, he married Rena May Guynn in Tracyton.
Goninan worked civil service for 30 years, retiring from Keyport as a truck driver.
In the 1970s, Goninan and his family enjoyed stock car racing as a hobby. He also played guitar with local country western bands.
Goninan and his wife were members of the Sons of Norway in Poulsbo.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rena; sons: Robert Jr. (Darlene), Michael and Ronald; grandchildren: Henry, Emily, Curtis, Christopher, Tessa and Benjamin.
