Robert L. Tolman, 77

Robert L. Tolman of Asotin died Dec. 19, 2006. He was 77.

Tolman was born to Orson and Edith (Anderson) Tolman in Otto, Wyo. on Sept. 28, 1929.

He married Freda Gould in 1952. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before her passing in 2002.

Tolman graduated from Greybull (Wyo.) High School in 1948.

He joined the Navy in 1948 and served three years as a yeoman on the USS Whiteside.

He returned to Greybull, Wyo., where he ran jukeboxes and pinball machines and spent two years as a hunting guide.

In 1967, he moved his family to Asotin, Wash., where he worked for the Potlatch Corp. until his retirement.

He enjoyed sports and old cars, being with his grandchildren and in his younger days he was an active hunter, fisherman and gardener.

Tolman is survived by his son Jeff (Laurie) Tolman of Poulsbo; daughter Anne (Rick) Appleford of Asotin; and four grandchildren.

Tolman was preceded in death by his wife Freda Tolman in 2002.

At his request there will be no memorial service.
