Robert “Jerry” Schroeder, 74

Robert “Jerry” Schroeder died Jan. 18, 2004 in Poulsbo. He was 74.

He was born to Edwin and Lillian (Seaman) Schroeder in Seattle on Feb. 26, 1929.

Schroeder married Joan M. Pettingill on June 26, 1954.

Schroeder graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle in 1946 and from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1950.

He served the U.S. Navy as a commander and pilot from 1951 until his retirement in 1973.

Schroeder was a member of the Poulsbo Lions Club and a member of the Elks Club. He enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables, walking his dog Charlie and was an avid reader.

Schroeder is survived by his wife Joan M. Schroeder of Poulsbo; sons Donald J. (Julie) Schroeder of Castle Rock, Colo. and Michael E. (Margie) Schroeder of Issaquah; daughters Susan (Mike) Acres of Silverdale and Linda (Rob) Clark of Reardan; sister Jean (Bob) McLaughlin of Mercer Island; and 14 grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 22 at The Stone Chapel.
