Robert Wendell Holmes of Poulsbo died Dec. 11. He was 79.
He was born to Lee and Mary Holmes in Harlingen, Texas, on Jan. 29, 1930.
He graduated from Harlingen High school and studied business administration in college.
Holmes served as a U.S. Marine in the Korean War. He enjoyed politics, landscaping and socializing with friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chris and his wife, Connie.
He is survived by his daughters: Wendy (Richard) Knapp of Poulsbo and Bonnie (Tom) Cox of Harlingen; a sister, Jean (Malcolm) Carrick of Berea, Ky.; a nephew, the Rev. Andrew (Judy) Carrick of Berea; five grandchildren: Chris (Jennifer) Belyeu, Samantha Belyeu, Catherine Knapp, Joseph Knapp and Christine Knapp; and two great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Katelyn Belyeu.
Services will be at 11 a.m. at the Community Center of Hostmark Apartments in Poulsbo. Memorial gifts may be sent to Catholic Community Services, 250 South Cambrian Ave., Bremerton, 98312.
