Ruby Lea Lord (Birdwell) was born December 26, 1941 to Arthur Birdwell and Frances (Unger) Birdwell in Stillwell, Oklahoma. She went to join them in heaven on June 24, 2022. Ruby was a devoted wife to Ed for nearly 62 years. Loving mother to Brian Lord and his wife Wendy, Debbie Nitsche and her partner Andy Moore. Doting grandmother to Sean Lord, Dustin Lord, Kristopher Nitsche and Claire Nitsche. She delighted in her great grandchildren, Clarity, Jesi and Tristan. She was a faithful sister, aunt and friend to many. Ruby was the eldest of five children including Carl Birdwell, Lena Ault, the late Jerry Birdwell and Linda McCoy. She was the smallest of all of them, therefore the bossiest. Her feistiness served her well throughout her life. If she teased you, she loved you. She always had a ready smile and a twinkle in her eye. Ruby loved nothing more than long road trips. She and Ed took many trips to visit family and friends throughout their lives together. Some of her favorite memories were places they had visited. Our goal will now be to try and make pumpkin bread as good as Ruby did, for hers was truly legendary. We love you and miss you, and you will live on in our hearts always.
