Sally Ann Nixon-Lyons, of Port Orchard, died on June 24.
She was 53.
She was born to Robert and Joyce Nixon on April 8, 1956, in Aberdeen.
She married Scott Lyons on May 6, 1985, on the island of Maui.
She grew up in Silverdale and graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1974.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University and later completed her Certificate in Aging and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Washington.

She spent 30 years working in the field of aging, including eight years as social service director at Martha and Mary Nursing Home and more than 20 years with Pierce County in the Aging and Long Term Care program.
She enjoyed collecting antiques and gardening.
She is survived by her husband Scott Lyons of Port Orchard; son Conner Lyons, parents Robert and Joyce Nixon of Chico; and brothers Tracy (Leisa) Nixon of Port Orchard and Scott (Shari) Nixon of Chehalis.
She was preceded in death by her sister Mona Kulani.
A celebration of life will be held at the LDS Church at 1550 Hoover Ave. S.E. Port Orchard at 1:00 p.m. on July 11.
